Meet the Pastor

Pastor Roland Pierce was born in Phoenix Arizona where he was raised in a family with Christian values. Pastor Pierce received Christ at the age of 6 years old and soon after fell in love with the art of preaching in vacation bible school at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church listing to his uncle Rev. Wesly Jones sing and pray during devotion. When his parents would take him to the national convention instead of going to children’s church Pastor Pierce could be found in classes on the art of Preaching taught by Bishop Noel Jones. He would listen to sermons on tape by Jasper Williams, Paul Morton, Huey Rodgers, and James Campbell. It was at the age of 14 that he preached his trial sermon in Tucson Arizona at Emmanuel Grace Apostolic Church, where his father Bishop Arthur Pierce is the pastor “The Power of God” was the title. It was his dream to be a preacher of the gospel.

Pastor Pierce was married to his wife Tanisha on November 9, 2019. Together they have 6 children Roland Pierce II, Ryan Pierce, Rielee Pierce, Rayven Pierce, Syisha Downing, and Micheal Armstrong. He also has 3 precious granddaughters and 2 grandson Amina Pierce, Kya Pierce, Romare Pierce, Aniya Armstrong, Michael Armstrong.

Pastor Pierce academic achievements include Aenon Bible college correspondence for Elders licenses, a Bachelor of Arts, in Religious Studies from Ottawa University in 1998. It was not long after that he returned to Ottawa University and received a Master’s in Educational Counseling in 2009. In 2016 Pastor Pierce received a 2nd Masters in Educational Administration. He is currently attending Gateway Seminary working on his master’s in divinity.

Pastor Pierce Served as Asst. Pastor of Emmanuel Grace Church in Tucson Arizona. It was during this time that he also served as Mountain States Council IPYPU President which covers Arizona, New Mexico and West Texas. In 1994 Pastor Pierce moved back to Phoenix and founded Cornerstone Christian Church where he served for 15 years and was installed by Bishop TD Jakes. The church grew from 3 members to approximately 160 members. The congregation purchased properties and started multiple programs to help the community they were serving at the time. Pastor Pierce also served as Pastor of Congregational Care at First Institutional Baptist Church for 9 months before being called Broadway Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Pierce has traveled the internationally teaching and preaching the gospel. He is passionate about disciplining believers and preaching the word of God.

 

He is working on his master’s in divinity at Gateway Seminary. He also serves as the leader of National African American Fellowship for the state of Arizona.

Pastor Pierce believes that God has called him win the lost to Christ and cause the saved to love him more. His favorite scripture is Psalms 1.
